For more than 114 years, Galatoire’s has been committed to the city of New Orleans and supports local causes and cultural programs throughout the community through the Galatoire Foundation, a New Orleans-based, non-profit organization.

Created in 2010, the Galatoire Foundation establishes a framework for the restaurant’s numerous community activities and donations through a number of events, including the annual Mardi Gras and Christmas table auctions, which have raised more than $2.2 million since their inception in 2006.

The Galatoire Foundation is dedicated to the people of New Orleans and will leave a legacy on a region that has patronized Galatoire’s for generations.

2020 TABLE AUCTION

Galatoire’s Restaurant and The Galatoire Foundation are pleased to announce that this year seven nonprofits have been chosen as beneficiaries of its annual Christmas and Mardi Gras table auctions. In years past, two recipients have been chosen as beneficiaries. 

“The last few years the auctions have been so huge, it’s created the opportunity to reach more people. This year we decided to share the money raised among seven total beneficiaries,” said Melvin Rodrigue, Galatoire Foundation President. “Each is deserving of these funds, which our loyal customers are always so gracious to bestow. We’re excited to expand our reach in the New Orleans community with the addition of the five grant recipients this year.”   

The two nonprofits chosen as “Auction Partners” are Roots of Music and Junior Achievement. The other five “Grant Recipients” are Big Sky RanchGirls on the RunGiving HopeBridge House/Grace House and the New Orleans Ballet Association

Since the inception, all proceeds have benefitted nearly two dozen New Orleans-area charitable organizations, from neighborhood rebuilding projects and crime prevention to youth programs and entrepreneurship efforts. Past recipients have included Dress for Success, Audubon Nature Institute, Liberty’s Kitchen, The Idea Village, The New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation and more. In the 2018 - 2019 season, the auctions raised more than $200,000. The Galatoire Foundation has been dedicated to giving back to the New Orleans community and region that has patronized Galatoire’s for generations. 

“Two times a year 162 seats get auctioned off,” said Rodrigue. “As a foundation and as a restaurant, we do our very best to make the charities timely and about things that are important in the community. We are pleased to have this year’s auctions benefit a variety of wonderful organizations that make our local community the very best it can be.”

 

Grant Consideration

Galatoire’s receives a number of requests. We will contact you directly if your organization is under consideration for partnership in our annual table auctions. Deadline for submission is September 15, annually. Requests from outside the New Orleans area are less likely to be given consideration.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  1. A non-profit organization with a 501(c)3 public charity status
  2. In operation for a minimum of five years
  3. Evidence of previous fundraising success
  4. An annual independent audit
  5. A volunteer board
